Our Founding Principals

The People’s Party of Canada brings together common sense, populism, classical conservatism, and libertarianism to create solutions adapted for the challenges of the 21st century. Our beliefs are succinctly summarized in our four founding principles: Freedom, Responsibility, Fairness and Respect. These principles guide and inform the policies of the People’s Party

The Halifax Regional PPC Association exists to do the following:

  • Mobilize People’s Party members and supporters to fight for change.
  • Promote People’s Party policy and ideas in HRM.
  • Assist Federal candidates in organizing campaigns to get elected.
  • Establish good communication links between local members and the PPC national leadership (HQ).

Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms

We support the application of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

The Charter, which was signed into law by Queen Elizabeth II, April 17, 1982, is both a piece of legislation and a part of our Constitution. It thus cannot be overridden by subsequent legislation.

It is important that Canadians know and understand what the Charter is, and what is guarantees us. We live in a time when government overreach has likely infringed upon our Rights and Freedoms (it certainly appears so). The People’s Party will defend this document.

Contact us if you’d like a print copy of this handy brochure, which contains the entire Charter inside.
